The ISCO 710 Doppler flowmeter module for open channels, streams and culverts plugs into the 6712 Sampler to create a combination sampler and flowmeter. The doppler sensor mounts above the flow stream and a pulse of sound is transmitted and reflected back from the surface of the liquid. The time elapsed between transmission and receiving the echo is proportional to the level of the liquid, which is then converted into flow rate by the sample controller.. The liquid level is then converted into flow rate by the sampler controller. To ensure measurement accuracy a temperature probe that's built-in to the sensor automatically compensates for changes in air temperature.
The 710 doppler flowmeter is the ideal choice for measuring flow streams with corrosive chemicals, suspended solids, high concentrations of grease, or silt, as the sensor does not contact the flow stream. This also gives long term dependability and reduces maintenance.
